The Miracle Morning

Find your uniqueness!

Hal Elrod, in his book (Miraculous Morning), shows how to break bad morning habits and adopt a positive, productive and energetic routine.

Stop hitting the snooze button on your alarm clock! Every time you do this, you are saying that your bed is more important than your day. How we start our day determines how the rest of our day will go.

So imagine waking up with a sense of satisfaction and confidence that your day will be amazing. With this optimism, your goals will be easier to achieve because you’ll have so much more energy to try!

For this reason, Elrod suggests a routine to practice every morning that will increase your motivation and help you have a more optimistic outlook on life.

The “Miracle morning” is a method to create this time and develop the areas that make up your life (physical, intellectual, emotional and spiritual). The method consists of 6 tools: silence, affirmations, visualization, exercise, reading and writing.

Lesson 1: Change is possible and depends only on yourself:

To achieve extraordinary levels in all areas of your life, the first step is to accept that every aspect of your life is your responsibility and no one else’s. We must avoid blaming others (parents, partners, children, friends, etc.) for our failure. The second step is to dedicate time to achieving our goal.

If you work daily to improve your physical, intellectual, emotional and spiritual skills, your situation will automatically change.

Lesson 2: It doesn’t matter how you sleep, it’s how you wake up that counts.

An important habit that will help you follow the Miracle Morning routine is to get up earlier than usual. This is a very important habit and is known as the “keystone habit”. This kind of habit produces a chain reaction of new habits. By getting up early, you will have time to develop other habits such as reading, learning a skill or writing.

The night before:

Create positive anticipation for the next morning with affirmations. The first thought of the morning is the same as the last thought before going to sleep.
“Thank you for the few hours of sleep, it’s exactly what I needed. If you tell yourself before going to bed that you have had enough sleep, you will wake up energized and well-rested. It is necessary to get as much sleep as we think we need.
Set the alarm on the other side of the room to force you out of bed when it goes off.

When the alarm goes off:

You have to say, “I’m going to get up now, because I have to commit to ________ (getting closer to my goals, achieving the life of my dreams, etc.).”

Do not press the “repeat” button. If we do, we are saying “I don’t want to live my life, not completely”, because we would rather stay in bed without knowing than to live and create the life we want. We are telling our subconscious mind that it is okay not to follow through with the commitments we have made. Don’t say, “I didn’t get enough sleep, my day is wasted”.

When you stand up:

  • Wash your face and teeth.
  • Take a glass of water.
  • Get dressed or take a shower.

Lesson 3: 6 steps to a good start in the morning:

Here are 6 powerful and effective personal development practices that will help you evolve and transform any area of your life.

Silence

Why is it important? It lowers your stress level and gives you calm, clarity and peace of mind so you can focus on what is most important in your life.
How do you do it? Through one of the following methods: meditation, prayer, reflection or attention.

Assertions

Why? With enough repetition, your subconscious mind will begin to believe what you tell it and eventually transpose it into your reality.

  • How do you do it? Create affirmations for each area of your life that you want to improve.
  • What: articulate exactly what you want.
  • Why: Define why all the things you want are important.
  • How: the actions you will need to take on an ongoing basis to make your vision a reality.
  • Use phrases that motivate you.

It is important in this context that you do not repeat each statement without thinking. You must feel their existence. It is best to read them and visualize at the same time what you expect. You have to be careful about your negative subconscious telling you that your affirmations are not true. That’s why it’s important to be able to visualize the affirmations, feel them in a concrete way and really believe them.

View

Why?

The repetition of visualizations gradually produces the belief that a desired goal is possible, then probable, and then begins to become a reality in your life. Psychologists have determined that the ability to visualize is one of the most important skills that all successful people possess in life, because they have had the opportunity to see their goals, their plan of action, their future.

How do you do it? Start with 5 minutes a day.

Make yourself comfortable, breathe deeply, close your eyes and clear your mind.
To visualize, you must look, smell, hear, touch, taste and feel every detail of your vision. Forget about limits and logic. As you read your affirmations, visualize your goal, how will you react when you reach it? Plan the process and see how you will enjoy it. Organize your day, from the moment you leave your home to the moment you return from work, imagining the difficulties you might encounter and how you will solve them. How will you react to people and know your mood and energy level.

Exercise

Why? Doing a few minutes of exercise every morning dramatically improves your energy, health, confidence and mental health. It makes you think better and focus longer.

How do you do it?

  • 10-20 minutes of aerobic exercise
  • Yoga
  • Jogging or walking
  • Body stretching

Choose 3 different exercises and do 1 set for each. (for example: sit-ups, push-ups and squats)

Read

Why? Anything you want in life, there are already hundreds of books written by experts that explain how to achieve it. So, reading is the fastest way to transform and succeed at level 10 in any area of our lives.

How do you do it?

Read 10 pages a day. That’s 3,650 pages per year. That’s about 18 200-page books a year. Reread good self-help books until you master the strategies, before starting a new book.

Write

Why?

You can record your thoughts, ideas, successes and learnings. This gives you more clarity because writing something down requires you to think long and hard to understand it.
At the end of the year, it is amazing to be able to go back and review your journal. It gives you a new appreciation for what you have done in 12 months, the progress you have made, and to renew the lessons you have learned. If you write down at the end of the day what you accomplished, and what, you are grateful for, it helps you keep a positive attitude (people only remember the few things that went wrong during the day).

How do you do it?

Take a digital or physical newspaper.
You can write down your goals, dreams, plans, things you are grateful for and lessons you have learned.
You can be very organized (what you are happy with, highlight your accomplishments, outline areas you want to improve and specific actions you are willing to take) or traditional (write down a date and a summary of the day).

The Miracle Morning is an inspiring book, which will motivate you to get up early and apply various routines in your mornings.

You don’t have to do them all in a row. For example, you can do a project or eat breakfast in between routines, or read on your way to work. Also, you can add other habits to your routine, such as eating breakfast or doing your most important task of the day.
